Software Test Engineer / Ingenieur de tests - Logiciel (Montreal)

Tasks and Responsibilities
-Plan, design and develop test specifications and test requirements for manual as well as automated testing of company's products.
-Conduct usability product testing and analysis to ensure the highest level of products' quality, interactivity and end-user functionality.
-Ensure that test results are promptly and accurately recorded.
-Troubleshoot software defects and ensure that they are logged quickly with clear description, replication steps and possible workarounds.
-Collaborate with developers to resolve software and hardware related problems.
-Ensure that resolved issues are verified and closed in timely manner.
-Provide support to beta customers during the beta cycle.
-Participate in technical documentation reviews.
-Actively participate in design and further improvements of the internal testing tools.
Tâches & Responsabilités
-Planifier, concevoir et élaborer les spécifications d'essai et exigences d'essai pour les tests manuels ainsi que les tests automatises de produits de l'entreprise.
-Conduire des tests d'utilisation et d'analyse pour assurer le plus haut niveau de qualité, d'interactivité et de la fonctionnalité final du produit pour l'utilisateur.
-Veiller à ce que les résultats des tests soient rapidement et correctement enregistrés.
-Résoudre les problèmes de logiciels et s'assurer qu'ils soient enregistrés rapidement avec une description claire, les étapes de réplication et les solutions de contournement si possibles.
-Collaborer avec les développeurs à résoudre les problèmes logiciels et matériels connexes.
-Veiller à ce que les problèmes résolus soient vérifiés et fermés en temps opportun.
-Fournir un soutien aux clients durant le cycle de beta.
-Participer aux revues de la documentation technique.
-Participer activement à la conception et à l'amélioration des outils de tests internes.
Professional Requirements
-Excellent analytical and problem solving skills with good knowledge of tools and techniques for anticipating, recognizing and resolving technical problems.
-Good understanding of IP standards and IP video networking principles.
-Knowledge of Audio/Video standards (eg. MPEG-2, MPEG-4, H.264).
-Familiarity with three major Operating Systems: Linux, Mac OS X, and Windows.
-Hands-on testing experience in Software Development (2-5 years) is an asset.
-Bachelor degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or equivalent is an asset.
Personal Requirements
-Good organizational skills with ability to track, prioritize and follow through numerous tasks.
-Detail oriented, methodical and thorough.
-Highly adaptive and capable of being an individual contributor as well as working as part of an extended team.
-Dependable and proactive.
-Fluent in spoken French and English. Strong written communication skills in English to communicate efficiently and effectively.
Profil professionnel
-Excellente capacité d'analyse et de résolution de problèmes ayant une bonne connaissance des outils et des techniques pour anticiper, reconnaître et résoudre les problèmes techniques.
-Bonne compréhension des normes IP et des principes de réseautique.
-Connaissance des normes audio / vidéo (par exemple MPEG-2, MPEG-4, H.264).
-Connaissance des trois principaux systèmes d'exploitations : Linux, Mac OS X et Windows.
-Expérience pratique en assurance qualité et en développement de logiciel (2-5 ans) est un atout.
-Baccalauréat en informatique, génie électrique ou l'équivalent est un atout.
