PURPOSE OF JOB

To prepare professional business documentation:

1). the Brief outlines our clients’ business, detailing and explaining the companies’ operations, sales and marketing, and outlining the acquisition potential;
2) the Proposal Letter is a 1-paged, marketing focused teaser document that is designed to grab the attention of and generate interest amongst purchasers for our clients’ businesses;
3) the Information Memorandum (IM) is an assemblage of more detailed information on our clients’ businesses, including financials, industry and market information, insight from other team members. This IM is delivered only after the purchasers have indicated that they are interested in the business. Therefore it must be marketing focused and present the details in a “benefits-rich” context.
4.) the PowerPoint Presentation — purpose: used at prospect meetings (face to face) to further illustrate the opportunity.

All prepared documentation must clearly reflect our client’s business, therefore, general business knowledge or understanding is helpful.

KEY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS

  • Preparation of documentation – supplement information provided by the client by using the internet, industry resources, and other available sources to provide a comprehensive and educated outline of the business.
  • Draft polished external marketing documentation that will generate interest and inquiry in the opportunity to purchase our clients’ businesses.
  • Integrate ideas and edits from other team members (Document Writers will work in a team alongside a Research Analyst, Business Analyst, Project Manager, Senior Business Manager and Deal Leader)
  • Participate in Market Strategy Meetings and other meetings as required in order to gain insight and direction for the clients’ documentation.
  • Write and edit other documentation including articles, white papers, blog entries as may be required from time to time.

Qualifications

  • Truly excellent writing and editing skills
  • Strong marketing abilities (emphasis on benefits versus features and ability to highlight the positives or spin weaknesses into opportunities.
  • Ability to work collaboratively, accept edits and remain open minded about various approaches
  • Strong research skills
