Employment Specialist (montreal)

Agence Ometz is looking for an Employment Specialist to provide employment counselling and job placement to disadvantaged populations and/or on-the-job training to candidates with barriers to employment including mild intellectual disabilities or mental health diagnoses.
RESPONSIBILITIES
• Interview clients to obtain case history and background information
• Perform client assessment and employment counselling including addressing and working/ supporting client with psychosocial/behavioural issues relevant to the work environment
• Identify barriers to employment and assist clients with such matters as job readiness skills, job search strategies, cv preparation and preparing for job interviews
• Administer and interpret tests designed to determine the interests, aptitudes and abilities of clients
• Support and assess progress of clients in their job search giving ongoing employment related advice
• Provide ongoing on- the - job training, coaching and support
• Solicit appropriate job leads for clients suited to client abilities via phone, company visits and affiliations with community organizations
• Manage busy caseload and associated administrative follow up to provide best client service
• Outreach to community institutions and participation in community and/or recruiting events in order to generate new clientele referrals and to best market the Supported Employment Program
• Advocate for clients and educate hiring companies on benefits of using the Supported Employment Program
• Maintain client records, prepare government applications and reports and detailed assessments
REQUIREMENTS
• Minimum education: DEP, Special Care Counselling or Bachelor degree in Social Work or Human Relations
• Strong organizational and time management skills to best respond to client needs as well as government application deadlines
• Minimum 2 years' experience with disadvantaged population and/or clients with disabilities
• Ability to work autonomously with own clients, and in a dynamic and collaborative team
• Experience in sales, marketing or outreach
• Must be Bilingual French and English (written & spoken)
• Car a must
