Jo Media (www.jomediainc.com) is a cutting-edge IT company specialized in publishing online videogames. A new Montreal start-up, Jo Media provides opportunity for career growth and an engaging workplace. Our first product: www.Favgame.net will seek to offer cutting edge, predominately browser-based, games to its community of users through an interactive portal. The portal, in addition to traditional features, will allow gamers to share their accomplishments across a variety of platforms, social communities, and portable devices.
Description of position:
Developer/Programmer responsible for the development and programming of various systems and databases related to the publication, maintenance, and tracking of corporate-wide web based assets. IN addition, the candidate will be required to work on our new projects from our development pipeline.
More specifically, the candidate will:
• Participate in software development with object oriented programming (PHP5);
• Program web sites based on a MySQL database;
• Redesign or Mange current framework as he sees fit (knowledge of Zend framework / MVC model is strongly recommended);
• Design, code, test and send to production monitoring applications to track the performance of our products;
• Study the feasibility of new projects according to the specifications proposed by other branches of the company;
• Diagnose and repair software problems;
• Design, develop and write up functional specifications required during the development process;
Qualifications:
• Bachelor in computer science or software engineering or any other pertinent training;
• Experience in development with MySQL and PHP 5; other OOP language with significant experience could also be appreciated;
• Able to easily communicate in English or French;
• Excellent aptitude to work as team;
• Time and Project Management capacity;
• Excellent at code documentation
Salary: 55K-70K
Quarterly bonus based on performance.
Health insurance: Medical, dental and vision after 3 months probation
Sick days: 6 days/year after 3 month probation
Paid time off: One week company paid during holidays
Vacations: 2 weeks paid vacation after one year
