Financial Analyst
Position Overview
A highly reputable firm currently has an opportunity for a Financial Analyst within their Financial department. The individual will be a highly analytical, technically competent, capable of reacting independently to demanding challenges and able to work in a team environment. The Financial Analyst will report to the Controller.
Responsibilities
• Prepare consolidated and separate financial statements.
• Consolidate investment and eliminating entries.
• Prepare the monthly consolidation file and end of year files.
• Record revenues and reconcile accounts receivable.
• Record intercompany transactions.
• Calculate depreciation (accounting and tax) and reconcile financial statements.
• Provide instalments calculations and tax provision estimations.
• Prepare end-of-the-month entries (prepaid expenses, accrued liabilities, reassessment of balance sheet accounts and other end-of-the-month entries).
• Program financial statement in the FRX system.
• Analyze budget variances.
• Review cash position and cash forecast reports.
• Participate in the budgetary process.
• Review GST & QST reports.
• Participate in external audits (tax audit, etc.)
• Be involved in various projects.
Skills/Experience
• University degree in accounting
• 3-5 years experience in financial accounting
• Autonomy and resourcefulness
• Strong analytical and synthesizing skills
• Ability to manage emergencies and interruptions
• Ability to work under pressure with deadlines
• Bilingualism
• Excellent knowledge of Word, Excel (advanced) and Outlook
• Knowledge of the industry of accounting service firms as well as Elite 3E and Great Plains systems, an asset
