Communications Specialist (Montreal, QC)

DESCRIPTION
Reporting to the Director of Marketing and Communications, you are a dynamic, creative and self-motivated individual with experience and skills in communications, content management, social media, as well as writing and editing. Working with internal stakeholders, you will create and develop internal and external communications materials across all media. Moreover, you will be responsible for managing the content of LASIK MD’s websites, as well as developing LASIK MD’s presence in social media such as social networks, blogs, micro-blogs, and other online communities.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
•Collaborate with the marketing director and marketing team, doctors, and members of the executive management team to determine conceptual and copy direction
•Responsible for developing, writing, and editing marketing and business-related content: ad copy, marketing scripts, collateral material, direct mail and email campaigns, web copy, newsletters, white papers, press releases, presentations, biographies, etc.
•Proof reading; ensure quality control for grammatical accuracy and consistency of voice/style.
•Improve, refine, and re-purpose existing marketing copy
•Research and stay current on laser vision correction industry trends and market dynamics and make recommendations as to copy direction
•Manage content for LASIK MD’s web properties alongside the Web Marketing Specialist
•Develop and execute a social media strategy alongside the Web Marketing Specialist
•Marketing coordination: Ensure that marketing projects are completed as per marketing briefs and established timelines
REQUIREMENTS AND SKILLS
?Outstanding writing (English) and oral communication skills in French and English
oAbility to convey complex subject matter clearly and accurately
oSkilled at creating clear, concise communications that persuade people to take action
oCapacity to copy write in both marketing and business styles
?Able to adapt to change and work in a fast-paced environment
?Able to establish priorities and manage several tasks and deadlines at once
?Excellent sense of organization
?Minutia; attention to the smallest details
?Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, English, Journalism, or other related fields
?2 to 3 years of experience in Marketing/Communications (in-house or with an agency)
?MS Office skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
?Web savvy, familiarity with Web 2.0 and social media (Facebook, Twitter, You Tube, My Space, Blogs, etc.)
?Knowledge of HTML an asset, but not required
