The Marketing and Sales teams are critical to the success of any game. The Marketing team works closely with game developers to ensure the game has a clear design and a clear ‘X’ factor, (i.e., the defining element of the game that makes it unique and the ultimate reason behind why our customers should pay for and play our game). The Marketing team identifies the key audience for our games and tailors the marketing strategy to communicate clearly to the intended target. The Sales team is responsible for making sure the game reaches all relevant distribution points, so that our customers can find our games at their favorite shopping destinations.

Role Overview:

Marketing Creative Services Manager, Pogo.com

This is an exciting opportunity for someone who has deep expertise in web and graphic design, to help establish an in-house creative services department within the marketing division of Pogo.com.
In this position, you will be responsible for establishing our graphic brand guidelines, designing and overseeing the design of all marketing creative assets for Pogo.com, and creating collateral assets. You will be a key member of the marketing team contributing in all areas of marketing, such as direct marketing, advertising, presentations, and web marketing. This position is a working operations and creative supervisor. You will oversee an “in-house” creative group and be the primary contact for all creative requests related to marketing.
You should have strong work experience in marketing creative with an available portfolio for review, and a track record of having managed in-house designers.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Proven experience in creative design and management, preferably in the online media and advertising industry, the Creative Manager will be responsible for determining creative best practice to define a consistent look and feel for all marketing collateral including, banner ads, landing pages, off line advertising and collateral, etc.
•Directs/oversees creative development of sponsorships/ad partner programs.
• Directs the production of all marketing creative content.
• Develops and enforces style guidelines for all marketing material to ensure creative meets quality standards and brand appropriateness.
• The Creative Manager understands the key drivers of business and ways to translate needs into a visual and engaging set of branded materials that help drive customer connection
• Partners with web development and games creative teams to insure consistency across all creative.
• Assigns design projects to and supervises the work of creative department, agencies and freelancers. Monitors design team’s workflow, schedules and budgets.
• Creating clearly defined project plans and schedules.
• Assisting with defining and documenting project objectives and strategic approach.
• Tracking and reporting on project status and next steps.
• Enforcing deadlines and approvals, revising schedules quickly when necessary.
• Managing several short-term and long-term projects simultaneously.
• Reporting directly to the head of marketing, the Creative Manager demonstrates an important balance of creativity and pragmatism, able to envision better ways to market our message while being able to rapidly design and deploy creative materials
• The Creative Manager also champions education of other team members in the development and application of core creative skills.
• The person will evaluate and ensure the overall flow and quality of work from the marketing team and interface regularly with other critical team members to develop marketing assets

Job Requirements:

- Demonstrated track record with at least 6+ years experience at a leading creative agency, consultancy or website working in a managerial role on marketing related creative materials. – Solid experience in web marketing graphic design, direct marketing, online marketing, collateral and promotional programs. – Mastery with brand identity systems, typography, color and other creative elements to create innovative visual solutions that meet business and user needs. – Strong messaging and copy development skills are critical to success.
Self motivated and empowered in rolling sleeves up to take complete ownership from vision to creative execution. – Well-developed communication skills including ability to articulate creative concepts and rationale to other team members – Deep and credible creative tool expertise across Adobe Creative Suite, Photoshop, Fireworks, Illustrator, Quark, Flash, Ajax, Flex, and other emerging platforms with available business portfolio for walk through – Expertise in online production, and a solid understanding of offline production – Demonstrated ability to work in fast-paced and changing environment with high levels of collaboration and cross-functional partnership – Strong interpersonal communication skills and problem-solving skills. – Excellent supervisory skills – ability to motivate and inspire a team of direct reports. Experience managing a team – managing a remote team is a plus. – Experience creating interaction flows, wireframes and assets based off specifications, and strong visual design with UX design experience is not required, but nice to have – Must be detail oriented. – BA/BS in graphic design or related field.
