Senior Software Developer/Engineering Manager (W. Island)

Due to growth, they are currently looking for a Software Developer to join their team.
RESPONSIBILITIES
The Software Development/Engineering Manager is responsible for providing architectural and technical guidance to product development to meet business requirements while ensuring consistency within the software development process and practices. He/She will be required to code and perform code reviews. You will be working closely with the upper management to define product direction and to ensure development meets or exceeds customer requirements.
• Develop and maintain programming software as required.
• Develop a technical vision for the development team.
• Manage the development team and provide leadership.
• Identify sources of technology and data to reduce development costs
• Provide ways to innovate.
• Translate product requirements into engineering specifications and API’s.
• Conduct assessments of the right platforms and standards to adhere to.
• Develop and maintain detailed development plans.
• Develop processes including coding standards, technical documentation standards and configuration management.
• Keep management informed regarding technical issues and resolution strategies.
• Perform code reviews as required.
QUALIFICATIONS
• 5-7 years experience as a senior developer/team leader.
• 5-7 years of experience with software architecture and engineering.
• Extensive Experience with developing and delivering enterprise software.
• Development experience with C++, Visual Basic, SQL and other programming languages as required.
• Knowledge of WXWidgets is an asset.
• Experience with cross platform development SDK’s and tools.
• Experience in all phases of the development life cycle – analysis, development, testing, implementation and support.
• Strong analytical skills and high attention to detail.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work well in a team environment.
• Good organizational and communication skills.
- Good debugging and trouble shooting skills.
