Accountant
Fuel Transport is currently seeking a motivated team player Accountant.
If you have three (3) years experience in a similar position we want to hear from you.
Under the supervision of our controller, with a team your tasks will be to review the preparation of the month end financial statement and the year end file, approves the sales tax remittances and perform special projects as they relate to the functions performed. Responsible for receivable and payable cycles Prepares analysis to support the upper manager in taking decision on the company’s future.
Responsibilities
• Daily, monthly and year end reporting. Maintaining an audit trail of transactions.
• Recording, reviewing non-trade bills, issuing payments after validation of bills
• Monthly reconciliation of operations (dispatch/ billing) and accounting systems, ensuring the accuracy of financial data reported. Producing validation reports into TMW system
• Bank reconciliations, monthly Bank linking Clause reporting
• Generating client / vendor reports
• Validation of GST / QST information imported from operations to accounting system prior to preparation of GST / QST returns.
• Reviewing and reconciling provincial and federal tax accounts (corporate taxes, GST / QST and DAS)
• Petty cash disbursements, expense reporting, validation of corporate disbursements and replenishment of Canadian and US petty cash dollars.
• Verification of work orders, reviewing billing amounts and carrier costs, adjusting incorrect information and reporting revised work order information.
• Collecting all information regarding prepaid carrier amounts prior to the complete processing of work orders, recording prepaid upon completion of the billing process, issuing prepayment to carries.
• Verification of proof of deliveries (for purposes of client billing and supplier / carrier payments).

Requirements
Bilingual
Bachelor degree in accounting with CA, CGA or CMA designation.
3 years experience in a similar position.
Excellent knowledge of MS Excel
Knowledge of TMW would be a serious asset.
