Accounting Technician for Downtown Company (Downtown)

For almost 30 years, our client has earned the reputation of being the world’s best.

They are currently looking for an Accounting Technician who will work within a team of 18 in the Accounting Department.
Responsibilities include:
- Reconcile and analyze assigned GL accounts (monetary accounts, payroll accounts), customer accounts, inventory locations, etc.;
- Perform daily customer account balancing;
- Initiate GL entries to ensure integrity of all transactions and resolve any query items;
- Perform daily 5 o'clock cash/inventory balancing, investigate and resolve issues if necessary;
- Participate in period close process;
- Participate in process improvement reviews and departmental and corporate projects;
- Prepare various and analyses requests by internal and external users;
- Assist with ongoing development and implementation of corporate policies and procedures for accounting related processes. Assist with documentation of procedures and controls;
- Undertake other relevant tasks requested by management
Qualifications / Requirements:
- Bachelors degree in Finance, Accounting or related field is an asset
- Advanced Excel skills, excellent technical abilities
- At least 2+ years of experience in the field
