Job Title: Production Freelancer
Position Overview:
Spafax, a multi-media custom publishing house, is seeking a Production Freelancer. You will supervise the production of a variety of projects, and must possess strong attention detail, superior organizational and time management skills, and the ability to work efficiently in order to meet tight deadlines.
The ideal candidate will have:
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to liaise effectively with editors, designers and clients.
• Comfortable in a Mac environment, and be able to use programs such as Adobe InDesign, InCopy, Excel and Microsoft Word.
• Demonstrated ability to handle multiple tasks in an organized manner, and to manage competing priorities.
• Ability to work under pressure in any job-related situation efficiently and effectively with the proven ability to meet deadlines and handle deadline pressures.
Experience:
• Minimum 2 years of production experience.
• Familiarity with design software applications and project management experience is required.
Your specific responsibilities will include:
• Managing the day-to-day workflow of various publications.
• Develop schedules and deadlines for art and editorial; ensure they are respected.
• Produce pagination.
• Give and facilitate feedback between yourself, the Art Director, Editor in Chief and the client.
• Traffic and circulate texts and layouts within editorial and visual departments.
• Coordinate translations and proofreading; and ensure final sign-off for all magazine editorial pages both internally, and with the client.
• Process invoices/cheque requests.
