Web Designer and Integrator
About the Position:
The position reports directly to the VP of Marketing and will work closely with the Marketing, Product Management and Engineering teams. The Web Designer and Integrator will be responsible for the visual appeal of our corporate website and the user interface for the actual Tungle application. We’re looking for people with winning attitudes, but at the same time, we don’t want people who half-ass it. If you’re looking for an easy-going design job to pay the bills, then please stop reading, because this isn’t for you. Job Requirements:
- Ongoing design, architecture and implementation of the Tungle corporate web site, including analytics tools to enable continuous optimization of site effectiveness
- Work in a team environment to build mock-ups and prototypes, establish and create style guidelines
- Create and implement images and designs for web user interface and create HTML/CSS that match the Photoshop design layout
- Produce a consistent visual image across the company web site and its applications
Qualifications:
- Three to five years experience in web application UI design and development
- Expert in CSS and XHTML
- Intermediate Javascript programming skills
- Experience in developing Flash animation videos
- Experience in developing and successfully deploying Database driven web-based applications
- Extensive experience with desktop publishing/imaging applications and an understanding of how mock-ups translate to code
- Effective verbal and written communication skills and the ability work well within a team environment
- Strong conceptual and creative skills and commitment to user satisfaction
- Experience and understanding of web site architecture, user experience, colour theory and colour management on the web, proper file formats, compression methods and techniques
- Expert awareness of cross-platform issues with regards to building pages
- Experience in mobile development or iPhone development is considered an asset
- Preferable to have a portfolio of past work
- Ability to anticipate and solve problems independently; quick learner and self-starter
- Must be detail-oriented
Education:
Bachelor Degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering, or equivalent.
