Computer Vision Specialist (St-Laurent, QC)

We are looking for an experimented Computer Vision Specialist to join the licence plate recognition research & development team.
Roles & Responsibilities
The candidate will be responsible for the evaluation and improvements of all components of the License Plate Recognition system.
The primary objective of this position is to evaluate the system components, recommend possible alternative (including newer technologies) and then implement, test and evaluate changes. The candidate will work as part of a research team.
The second objective is to propose, test, develop, evaluate and provide proofs of concept and prototypes for new generations of products, propose new products and/or solutions to enlarge existing product line.
Qualifications
Requirements
• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Computer Engineering, Computer Sciences or Mathematics with a specialization or an experience in image processing is requested.
• A master degree would be considered as a plus.
• A minimum of three (3) years experience in the industry working in the field of image processing or computer vision.
• A minimum of three (3) years of software development experience in industry (C/C++/C#).
Technical expertise
• Knowledge in software development methods and procedures.
• Knowledge with camera systems and optics including filters and lenses.
• Knowledge of optical character recognition software is an asset.
• Knowledge in embedded programming an asset.
• Proven ability to recognize, analyze and integrate emerging technologies in the development of new products.
• A self-starter with excellent technical and communication skills.
• Strong experimental/hands-on research capabilities.
• Works well in a small team.
