The Montreal Holocaust Memorial Centre, through its museum, commemoration events and educational initiatives informs and sensitizes people of all ages and backgrounds about the Holocaust, as well as antisemitism, racism, hatred and indifference. The Centre promotes our collective responsibility to respect diversity and encourage action in the face of injustice.

The Centre seeks a professional who, in keeping with the organization's direction, will be responsible for the implementation of a human rights program aimed at engaging young adults (18-35) on issues of the Holocaust, human rights and current-day prejudice and genocide. The position is part-time with the opportunity for an increase to full-time.

Qualifications
• Bilingual
• University degree in social work, political science, international relations, conflict resolution, law or other relevant subject area
• Minimum of three years work experience in an issue-focused milieu, with a strong understanding of human rights and social justice issues
• Excellent oral and written communication skills in both languages
• Strong interpersonal skills, sensitivity, diplomacy and a team player
• Expertise in the coordination and facilitation of working groups as well as experience in community networking and organizing
• Competence in logistics and organizational work
• Ability to work independently and as part of the Holocaust Centre team

Responsibilities
• Support and leadership for a committee of young adults involved in public education on human rights issues
• Networking and development of partnerships with other Montreal-based human rights focused organizations
• Planning, development and delivery of human rights related programs and workshops
• Work with the Jewish and broader Montreal communities to engage young people. Outreach. Facilitation
• Promotion of the Centre's activities and educational programs to young adults.
• Community organizing work (popular education, dialogue series, development of working groups, mobilization, development of activities and actions)
• Training and support of volunteers

Salary between $30,000 and $38,000 per year pro-rated for part-time employment (with the possibility for an increase to full-time work).
