Financial Development Coordinator (Montreal)

The Financial Development Coordinator provides coordination and support to the Executive Director and the Board through management of the fundraising activities for YES.
Responsibilities include:
1. Providing support and leadership in executing strategies for all fundraising activities including sponsorship, events, major gifts, alumni program, and direct mail campaign
2. Providing stewardship in recognition of donor philanthropy and managing the fundraising database Identifying and utilizing resources including Board members, volunteers, and members of the interested
public to identify linkage and sources of grants/ gift prospects
3. Initiating efforts to identify, solicit, steward, maintain and upgrade donors and build on the current base of corporate sponsorships
4. Managing and/or planning direct mail campaigns and sponsorships for events.
5. Providing coordination between all of the fundraising initiatives
6. Identifying and cultivating new sources for funding, particularly private and corporate using on-line information, journals, news sources, board contacts, etc.
7. Along with the marketing department coordinating the writing of campaign-related promotional materials (e.g. formal proposals, letters of inquiry, brochures and flyers, direct mail pieces, invitations, web site content.)
8. Providing motivation, support and training to Board members and volunteers for their increased involvement and collaboration in fundraising activities and efforts
9. Assisting with other YES activities as needed.
Requirements Include:
• A minimum of three years fundraising experience at a non-profit organization
• Excellent writing skills and attention to detail
• Ability to work in a fast paced environment
• Knowledge of fundraising databases
