Geordie Productions invites applications for the full-time position of Education and Outreach Manager, to join our small but resourceful administrative team. Geordie is a not-for-profit company producing theatre for young audiences, and presents an annual mainstage season for families and schools, as well as a 7-month school tour.
We are looking for a reliable, organized, and energetic self-starter for the Education and Outreach Manager, which is an administrative position and involves the following responsibilities:
• Liaise with schools/presenters to schedule and organize the two-play School Tour and Mainstage School Matinée series.
• Solicit bookings for the two-play school tour and mainstage school matinee series.
• Create and maintain relationships within the Montreal and Quebec school system through phone, email and attendance at the annual QPAT teacher's convention.
• Manage the relationship with the venue for Geordie Theatre School.
• Coordinate classes and class schedules for Geordie Theatre School.
• Work with Geordie Theatre School teachers on creating and maintaining curriculum.
• Liaise with schools and the touring troupe regarding the day-to-day dealings of the Tour. Prepare tour schedules and other materials required by the touring troupe.
• Book accommodation and travel arrangements as required for two-play tour.
• Issue contracts and information packages, and track payments for tour and matinee series.
• Maintain database of school information.
• Supervise the box office and Front of House activities for the School Matinee series.
• Reconcile Box Office Reports for School Matinée performances.
The ideal candidate is knowledgeable about theatre, and has a post-secondary degree or equivalent experience in administration. A desire to work in a not-for-profit environment is essential. The candidate must be fluent in English (oral and written), be comfortable in spoken French, and project a welcoming manner on the telephone and in person. S/he must be computer literate, have good computer skills in a PC environment, and be prepared to learn Geordie's box office software.
Salary is commensurate with education and experience.
