Product Coordinator -- Montreal,
Reports to the VP Marketing
Position Description:
The Product Coordinator is responsible for product planning and execution throughout the product lifecycle, including: listing and prioritizing product and customer requirements, defining the product vision, and working closely with platform providers, engineering, sales, marketing and support teams to ensure revenue and customer satisfaction goals are met. The Product Manager's job also includes ensuring that the product supports the company's overall strategy and goals. Extensive knowledge of Voice, Data and IP Telephony technologies and platforms is essential as is prior expertise in building and launching B2B products and services at a telecommunications company.
Responsibilities:
• Define product strategy and roadmap and directly support product planning activities
• Deliver MRDs (Market Requirements Document) and PRDs (Product Requirements Document) with prioritized features and corresponding justification
• Develop business case and ROI models for service offerings to evaluate and prioritize offerings
• Develop the core positioning and messaging for the product with marketing team
• Conduct assessments of the propositions / partnerships that would lead to new business opportunities
• Perform product demos to customers, when required
• Brief and train the sales force and support team
• Develop documentation and sales tools for new and existing products and services
• Be an expert with respect to the competition; create competitive analysis of other products in the industry
• Work closely with cross-functional teams towards launch and promotion of new products and services
• Assist Marketing to with information on products, promotional tie-ins and content sourcing as necessary
Background/Experience required:
• Minimum 3 years experience with a company in a product marketing or product development role.
• Degree in business or a field of technology from an accredited university preferred.
• Demonstrated success defining and launching successful products.
• Understanding of the dynamics of the telecommunications market and an appreciation for the complexity in the value chain and the role of platform providers.
• Prior experience with supporting RFI and RFP processes.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Prior experience and mature understanding of the product development process.
• Broad relationships in the content and media community.
• Ability to travel on occasion.
• Sample product development documents written (PRD, MRD, etc)
Necessary Skills/Attributes:
• Very strong analytical, problem solving written and verbal skills.
• Bilingualism is an asset.
•Mature understanding of building, operating, and launching services in the Canadian market.
• Capable of managing several high profile programs and project activities to completion.
• Comfortable with presenting in front of customers and business executives.
• Works very collaboratively across internal teams.
• Highly motivated and able to think proactively.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; ability to facilitate meetings and develop relationships with external and internal departments.
• Develop and maintain excellent working relationships with all assigned levels within and outside the company.
