Key Responsibilities/Job Functions:

-Respond to corrective network problems, performing effective/efficient problem analysis, rapid troubleshooting diagnosis and prompt
-Optical Fibre, SONET (Fujistu,Nortel) knowledge of TCP/IP would also be an asset.
-Fibre splicing, quality control test (OTDR)
-Contractor work coordination
-Perform cutovers and upgrades on the network as directed by work orders and Detail design Specifications.
-Analyze the network configuration to identify network optimization opportunities, plan the network redesigns.
-Maintain “up-to-date” site documentation as outlined by the EWO initiative.
-Perform acceptance tests on newly installed sites and equipment to ensure results meet design specifications.
-Be highly adaptive to work on the various technical and business tasks assigned by the manager.
-Stay on top of the latest telecom technology and the market dynamics, quick learning and self-learning are the keys.
-Administrative reporting of Mileage, Timesheet, Expenses, Equipment and Deficiency ticket updates etc.
-Shift work, overtime, and 24 hour on-call support is required on a regular rotational basis.
-Ability to travel and work at various sites as required.

Job Qualifications:

-French and English speaking
-Minimum 2-4 years experience at in Telecom industry, preferably in a voice service related role.
-Proven ability to deliver results with tight timelines.
-Quick learning and effective researching skills are a must.
-Ability to work with minimal supervision.
-Demonstrated strong modeling and analytical skills; a high level of attention to detail and result required.
-Proficient verbal and written communication skills, ability to drive and to close the discussion with multi-functional groups

Babysitter needed in our home. Monday and Wednesdays starting in January from 9:25am to 1:30pm (give or take depending on traffic when I travel home). MUST BE AVAILABLE FOR ON THOSE DAYS FOR THOSE HOURS. PLEASE DO NOT CONTACT IF YOU CANNOT COMMIT TO THOSE SPECIFICS.
Morning starts off with 14 month old boy, then at 12:15pm daddy will bring our 4 year old and 2.5 year old boys home from pre-school for lunch, then nap (younger boys). If one or all boys do not have pre-school, must be willing and able to care for all three boys if need be (not anticipated however you never know).
Tasks include: playing, feeding, taking outside in snow, light housework if all kids nap (tidying up toys played with and lunch mess etc), quiet activities with older boy if not napping.
You must have your own mode of transportation however we are located within a 3-5 minute walk from Fairview. You must be reliable and on time, have experience with 1 year olds, do not smoke while “on the job” nor have your nose in the i-phone;) References are great as well.

Dr. Ditto’s laboratory in the Department of Psychology is looking for people between 18-30 years old, who have never given blood before to participate in a 1.5 hour study on attitudes about blood donation. This involves completing questionnaires and participating in a laboratory session in which you learn different techniques that may people cope better with blood donation, needles, etc. The study involves watching a video of someone giving blood, but not giving blood yourself.
