Tobacco info is a 16 page full color Canadian publication published five times a year. This publication reports on developments and updates happening in the community of tobacco control. It is mailed free of charge to other journalists, doctors, elected government officials, and important individuals that are key stakeholders in the fight to reduce tobacco consumption.

Its sister publication Info-tabac is partly based on issues happening in Quebec. Tobacco Info reports on all Canada, notably on other provinces. Though each journalist is responsible for their own publication, they are also expected to work together on cross over articles.

If you are passionate about working to reduce tobacco consumption in Canada then this job is for you. As a journalist you will be required to conduct research, write copy, interview, and work with the coordinator to layout the publication.

We are looking for a candidate with the following:

Requirements
· Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
· Journalism experience an asset
· Energetic self-starter with good interpersonal and collaborative teamwork skills
· Ability to work independently with limited supervision
· Proficient in Microsoft Office
· Advanced knowledge of spoken and written English, and intermediate French

Responsibilities
· Research, write and copy edit all articles, ensuring a high-caliber of style
· Establish priority of stories according to strict deadlines, adhering to editorial/production schedule
· Work with the Editorial Committee and the Info-tabac journalist

Full time — 35 to 40 hours per week (flexible)

Location: 1988 Sainte-Catherine Street East, Suite 205, Montreal H2K 2H7 (Metro Papineau)

Salary offered: $22 per hour

• Assurer que la terminologie utilisée est cohérente entre tous les articles

• Remplacer tout anglicisme avec l’expression québécoise appropriée

THE POSITION
The Consumer Retail Reporter in Canada is a part-time independent contractor position. This person will work closely with the Consumer Products Senior Editor to provide relevant and timely marketplace intelligence for the global investment community. Having interviewed artists like Mother Mother, Noah and the Whale and Cut Copy, UnNomDeGuerre is an up and coming voice on the Canadian media scene. We are looking for writers who are willing to lend their own voice to our site and gain experience with interview skills and writing for new media.

One of the positions will be filled by a writer with a finger on the pulse of the Canadian music scene, preferably located in Eastern Canada.

We are also looking for two writers to each focus on fashion and film with a focus on those from Canada; these may be located anywhere in Canada.
